GRAND PRIZE WINNER "Inspiring Figures"

The portrait of my daughter "Aenor" won the Grand Prize in the "Inspiring figures" exhibition, hosted by the Portrait Society of America, Cecilia Beaux Forum and The Butler Institute of American Art.
In the current issue of International Artist Magazine ( #76, december 2010 / January 2011) you can find a 2 pages article about my painting process.

Inspiring Figures at the Butler Institute of American Art

I'm very honored to announce that my painting "Aenor" is going to be included !!!!


The Portrait Society’s Cecilia Beaux Forum, a committee in support of women artists, spent several years developing this exhibit which celebrates American women artists whose innovative portraits and figurative artwork have inspired generations of artists and will certainly continue to do so. Inspiring Figures features a mixed collection of work by historic artists, acclaimed contemporary artists and prize-winning artwork chosen through a national competition. We are privileged to be showing Inspiring Figures at the Butler Institute of American Art, which holds the distinction of being the first museum in the world to focus exclusively on American art. Inspiring Figures has an educational focus and is the culmination of the Cecilia Beaux Forum mission to engage and expand the public’s awareness of women artists and women's contributions to the arts, as well as to our nation’s history.

Inspiring Figures will be on display at the Butler Institute of American Art September 12-October 31, 2010. We hope you will all join us at the Butler September 12, 2010 for the Opening Reception and Award Ceremony and again throughout the show at the many educational programs.

I just learned that my drawing "La bluette" received this fine honor in the Perez Fine Art Galleries Summer exhibition !

WILLIAM BOUGUEREAU AWARD and FIRST PLACE in Drawing in the ART RENEWAL CENTER competition

The Art Renewal Center just published the results of their competition : I'm very honored to announce that my painting "Le Défi" won the Best in Show Bouguereau Prize, and my "Winter Self-portrait won the First Prize in the drawing category. In addition, another drawing " 3 months" is among the finalists !

L'Art Renewal Center vient de publier les résultats de leur concours annuel : j'ai le grand honneur d'annoncer que ma peinture "Le défi" a gagné le "Best in Show Bouguereau prize" et mon "Autoportrait hivernal" a gagné le Premier Prix de la catégorie dessin. De plus, mon dessin "3 mois" est parmi les finalistes.
